SOMETHING GREAT ~Scene of Memory~
Piece concept (comment from the artist at the time of selection)
An infinite amount of storehouses of memories and space exist within our bodies. I've used pallets as used copiously at the world's logistics sites—symbols of our modern society—to depict the even more numerous drawers of memories, packed full of memories. Everything around us in our everyday lives enters us through our five, or six, senses and is stored in the drawers of memories within the memory storehouses. These infinite drawers of memories offer us numerous hints and feelings of courage as we journey through our lives. Pretend you're trying to think of a better plan for something but with a time limit. There's a part of you that repeatedly opens and closes those drawers with astonishing fervor. In doing so, you experience a vast space with a whirlwind of memories. But Super Brain by Deepak Chopra, M.D. and Rudolph E. Tanzi, Ph.D states, "Feeling the wind in your face, you won't find a breeze in your brain, and its temperature of 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit won't change, whether you are in the Sahara or in the Arctic. Electrons bump into electrons, that's all." I wanted to describe, if even just an iota, the mystery of the immense space within the human body and brain.
