Piece concept (comment from the artist at the time of selection)

This piece creates an unfamiliar display below the familiar scene of a tabletop. It becomes a place for thoughts and imagination to grow through the transformation of everyday items beyond what they are and their expansion into unfamiliar territory. Everyday items spread across the tabletop are close to the viewer's everyday life and provide a chance to reflect on past experiences. Countless vertical lines from an adhesive trace and portray the items' silhouettes with the inner area left open. The lines created from the melted adhesive drip down due to gravity and cool to intricately intertwine as they organically come together and stretch toward the ground. There, beneath the numerous items on the table, cavities form, and you can envision something like the interplay between the nerves of the body and the information they relay, normally hidden from your eyes, or natural phenomena such as forests or the rain. Urea crystals form on all of the items on the table and the adhesive strands, covering the surfaces in white. The sight is an unusual one with the table looking as if it's been left untouched since it was last used long ago—as if blanketed in dust and ash or covered with a snow-white moss. Those cavities are filled by the viewer's imagination, which serves as a bridge to the viewer's memories, and a view into the expanse below the table acts as a peek into the shadows of this world.

Everyday items are placed atop a table of mesh construction, and an adhesive is dripped down from the top to create a display of numerous vertical strings and crystals. This piece offers a glimpse of the unknown and the uncharted through unfilled cavities and the passing of time.
